Toddy Holeman
Yoga Teacher
I came to yoga after years of adult ballet. I was looking for a physical practice that would “age gracefully” with me and yet provide challenge. I found these benefits – and much more in yoga. When I was on my mat, I felt deeply connected to myself, my body, and my God. I also found a loving and supportive community where competitive comparison was replaced by compassionate encouragement. Needless to say -- I was hooked.
In my class you will gain strength, flexibility, and improve your balance. As a yoga teacher I offer well-rounded and creative practices that move and flow energetically. I focus on healthy body alignment for injury prevention. I also encourage self-compassion and acceptance of what your body can do during any given practice. I offer opportunities to challenge yourself and to work toward your own “growing edge” as a yoga practitioner. While I thoroughly enjoy leading intermediate and advanced classes, I delight in teaching yoga basics to give newer students a firm foundation in combining breath and safe movement. I believe all people are fearfully and wonderfully made.
I am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. In Summer 2020 I completed my 300 hour yoga teacher training with international yoga teacher, Laura Burkhart [Lauraburkhartyoga.com]. I am also a graduate of Jessica Lichaa’s first 200-hour yoga teacher training (2016). My roots at Radically Rooted Yoga run deep. In Summer 2020 I retired after 25-years as a professor of counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary.
